Pope disses Kim Davis

OK, so Kim Davis and Liberty Counsel had been spreading the word that Pope Francis met with Davis, the anti-gay Kentucky county clerk, and gave her his blessing for being courageous.

Well, hold your horses, Kim. Friday the Vatican offered a rare explanation and said that the pope didn't meet with Davis per se. She was just one of a number of people in a receiving line, he didn't have much of anything to say to her, and he doesn't necessarily agree with her position.

  • I am sure the Pope is preying for her... to just go away. We should all follow suit and pretend she doesn’t exist. Soon the media will find yet another scandal-du-jour if we can just let that yapping dog die.

  • Bear, Kim Davis reminds me of that old radio show: It Pays TO Be Ignorant. Under Kentucky law she collects her $80,000.00 a year if she show up or not. Now she is the Liberty Counsel poster child. She is wined and dined and probably gets speakers fees or a kick back for showing up at their fundraising events. Plus she ran for office knowing this situation would like arise. Pretty shrewd. Nobody ever goes broke pedaling fear and hate.

  • From what I can tell, Kim Davis is, well, to be kind, not the brightest bulb :) For that reason, I tend to put more blame for this charade on her handlers and lawyers. She never would have thought of, or had the connections to, be in a special line to greet the pope. She's guilty of being a moron, but she's also being used by those with bigger agendas. It's telling that she switched to the GOP. Look at who's supporting her!!!

  • @manloverover50 there's plenty about it in the new testament to. To be a Christian means that you are trying to live a life that mirrors Jesus christ' so a true Christian is near impossible to find.

    For Kim Davis tho how many lies does this make? On top of all of her other failings I have to ask who does she think she's kidding?

    And her lawyers may be doing poorly but she hasn't once tried to back out of it or stop this foolishness so I blame her equally

  • dont give her too much publicity...I mean now that shes switched her party affiliation to republican pretty soon one of their candidates for pres will want her as a running mate

  • Kim Davis is being represented very poorly by her lawyers. It's pretty obvious the Liberty Counsel pulled some strings to get her in line to greet the pope and then blew the whole incident up to make it look like she had the pope's endorsement. Freaking pathetic. I've said it before, but I think her attorneys should be disbarred. And if this is the kind of piss poor representation that lawyers from the Liberty U. law school are churning out, it should lose its accreditation.
