Three in a row for The Donald, who scored an easy win last night in the Nevada caucuses, on the heels of his wins in New Hampshire and South Carolina. He's won in the Northeast, the South, the West ... Can he be stopped?
If the GOP has any chance to derail him, they're going to have to get down to ONE non-Trump candidate FAST. Like probably after Super Tuesday. Starting March 15, all Republican primaries will be winner take all, meaning whoever has the most votes, even if its only 30 percent or so, wins all the state's delegates.
It's already clear that in a multi-candidate race, Trump is unlikely to be defeated. If it's just Rubio, maybe Rubio would have a shot. If it's Cruz, the GOP's problem is that a large percentage of the party hates Cruz worse than Trump!!! Ah, the misery of being a Republican!! :)
As for me personally, I can't stand any of the three leading GOPers. Believe it or not, I find Trump the least objectionable of the three. That's how bad the top of the GOP field is.
After Super Tuesday, the pressure is going to mount on trailing candidates to withdraw. But with so many states voting at once, there may be something for everybody (except Carson) to hang his hat on.
The Democrats don't have winner-take-all primaries. They're all proportionate. So it's almost guaranteed that the Democratic race is going to last longer than the GOP contest.
Speaking of Super Tuesday ... I voted today -- for Hillary. But the kid who lives with me, in his very first vote, went for Bernie, so we canceled each other out :) I'm fine with that, as I like both Dem candidates.
