Clinton clashes with Republicans at Benghazi hearings

No idea what, if any, future political plans Hillary Clinton has, but she's one Democrat, at least, who isn't afraid to take on the GOP attack machine.

Her appearance Wednesday at the House and Senate hearings on Benghazi proved again that she's one tough cookie.

  • Oh, there's a lot for her to consider. How's her health? Is she, both physically and mentally, up to the rigors of what amounts to a two-year campaign, and having to raise upward of a billion bucks? That's a pretty daunting task, especially since she's already been through a good chunk of it before and really knows what it's like.

I also think the signs are that the GOP and media would be rougher on her than they were on Obama.

And I'm sure she'll want to see what the chance of winning is before running. If the economy doesn't perk up considerably, it may be difficult if not impossible for a Democrat to win a third consecutive term.

  • She'd be a fool not to run....I think she's a shoe in.

  • Following the inauguration, I was reading all the headlines and checked out the conservative press. One thing that stuck out on the Fox News website was the headline 'Benghazi, finally answers?" set over a backdrop of flames. Good grief. The article did not have any relevant points or "news" just more fuel for the fire of its faithful followers. The affair is tragic in the loss of life, but given the nature of the work certainly not unexpected, and it's a dead horse that the Republicans are intent to keep on flogging.

One of the better articles, if you're interested, are on Juan Cole's website where he dissects the current Republican arguments on Benghazi and provides a coherent and factual counterpoint: http://www.juancole.com/2013/01/republican-bengha … ntons.html

I dig her too Bear'nFW, and would like to see her run in 2016 (though I'm happy for the political respite until then!), but you can put money down now, if she does run, that Benghazi will be one of the prominent criticisms that the Republican party piles on her.

  • I'd love to see her run for president again if the situation is right. I think she could be a great president. However, I'd certainly understand if she didn't. She's been through the wringer, and she's starting to get on up there agewise.

  • She gave those Senators a lesson not only in the details of running the State Department, but also in how to eloquently and persuasively state your case.

  • She was not happy........and that's the first time I ever saw her loose it like that. I wouldn't want to fuck with her.
