A CNN poll shows something that the gay community has been encouraging gay people on all along: Being out and visibile to your family and people you know increases support for gay rights.
The poll shows that support with gay marriage has risen along with the number of people who know gay people. They call it the "Rob Portman effect" for the senator's son. The Ohio senator changed his mind on gay marriage after his son came out to him.
