It's a rough world out there

I live in east Fort Worth, Texas. Not the greatest neighborhood in the world, but there's a lot worse. Anyway, this happened this morning on my street and practically right in front of my house.

Fortunately, I slept through the shooting, but awoke to find cops everywhere and firefighters washing away blood.

Makes you wonder what kind of insane world we live in.

  • @celticbud I love St Pete Beach and was considering living there myself. The scenery is so gorgeous. My sister and nephew visited me from Boston and we met in SPB and the weather was fantastic everyday. It was very safe to walk around at night and lots of places to go to eat.
    Was also considering Boca Raton, its beautiful and safe there.
    You have to take those crime statistics with a grain of salt. It says that Sarasota is dangerous, but thats just in some specific neighborhoods. If you stay away the rest of Sarasota is safe and beautiful, but the bad neighborhoods bring the whole city down.

  • I'd say time to look for a new neighborhood pal. Springfield, Massachusetts isn't any better. Gunshots heard through out the summer, vandalism, and now maybe a casino coming, no fucking way...time to move on and seek out new beginnings. I know crime exist just about everywhere, just that some areas are worse than others. I'm opting out! Hope to be in St. Petersburg by fall. I know its not the answer and have already reseached crime rates in St. Petes/Tampa area...way better than Massachusetts, and gets progressively worse here, not better. Good luck bud.

  • i live in the same neighborhood that i lived in as a child. it used to be that if someone had a domestic argument, it was the talk of the neighbors for weeks. now, i've gotten so used to hearing gun shots that i'm able to judge what caliber gun is used. the world has changed.

  • With the Boston bombings happening about a mile from where I am, I can relate to TO CLOSE FOR COMFORT. It certainly is a rough world out there and I'm afraid it's getting rougher. Glad you're OK, and hope it stays that way.

    Yeah it can be rough out there. I'm from Watertown Ma and look what happened there last week lol.
    You must be a heavy sleeper ;)
    When I was a kid I heard that someone was stealing our family car and my father had a rifle (he's from the old country Sicily) and fired it out the second floor window 20 feet from my bed, and I slept through the whole thing.
