This compromise would allow gay kids but not gay adults. It's kind of a half-assed compromise, but it's better than what was floated before (allowing an opt out for local troops), and after all, this is mainly about the kids. Probably won't make anybody completely happy, but it is a move in the right direction.

I agree with rae, mixed feelings. I was in BS and I loved the experience. But they don't allow anyone with differencing opinions. Just because something has been that way for so many years, doesn't make it work today
i have really mixed feelings about this. i agree it's a step in the right direction but it also sends the message that fags can't be trusted around children. it's sort of "bigotry lite" as i read it described in another site.
