You might think he's a disgusting dope addled douchebag (I know I do), but he commands an amazingly large listening office. As Rush goes, so goes his listeners--they don't call 'em dittoheads for nothing. A lot of people perked up when he stated that the party will be irrelevant if it continues its current course. I hate to agree with him, he's right.
I think Rush is a lot smarter than most of us give him credit for. Why would he come out and say he believes gay marriage is going to happen? Could it be that he is trying to fire up the evangelical base to oppose it? Anyone notice that the evangelicals and the base are not out on street corners like they were in the past. Where is the resistance coming from this time? Look at what the resistance is to immigration reform and gun control. It is not the average person outraged but the fringe leadership. Could it be that the average person on the right is seeing that these issues are not the red buttons they were a few years ago and that the leaders of the resistance are losing their power to get thm all fired up?
Rush is still a leading mouthpiece for the GOP, and the fact that he says gay marriage is inevitable is interesting. Republican leadership has obviously come to this conclusion, and now they're trying to figure out how to have it both ways -- piss off neither moderate America, which is increasingly approving of gay marriage, or the religious right, which still thinks gay people are headed straight to hell.
Maybe the strategy is by saying it's inevitable and implying they can't do anything about it, they think the issue will go away???
I wholeheartedly agree with Kelley. Limbaugh is an idiot! He believe that marriages should only be between a man and a women. He believe this so strongly, he on his 4th marriage.
Maybe the strategy is by saying it's inevitable and implying they can't do anything about it, they think the issue will go away???
