  • About 12 years ago I was involved in a long-term (2+ years) HIV prevention study. They checked me every 3 months, gave me prevention lectures and all that. At one point for a few months, an HPV study was tagged on and the gave me 2 or 3 rectal pap smears. I've always wondered why gay men aren't routinely checked for that.

The "new vaccine" is only for men under the age of 26, according to the CDC article above.

  • Before we all get carried away, it can cut both ways. I saw Dr. Oz show about 6 months ago. In it they were talking about the increase in mouth and throat cancer. Oral sex was to blame. Dr. Oz and other doctors advised to find a dentist who would look for it. And they further advised women to make sure they used a condom when performing oral sex. WTF why wasn't he warning us guys. LOL!

  • It's possible; it's true. It can also affect yours gums. Many doctors neither ask nor screen men for it.
