Meanwhile, as a point of comparison, a long-overdue anti-workplace discrimination bill could be headed for passage in the Senate. It cleared a key panel this week.
But it matters not. The House won't even schedule hearings on it, much less a vote.
My opinion of a political body has never been lower than my current regard for the U.S. House. And that even includes our Texas Legislature. At least everyone knows it's worthless. That's a long-standing tradition.

BUT when it comes to poor families, they think it is a good idea to take the food out of their childrens' mouths; they think it is a wonderful new idea to let the poor starve or resort to theft or prostitution, or drug dealing, etc. to get enough for food?
It might be wise for the Democrats to give in to this absurdity if only to foment a revolution led by farmers, the poor and the rest of us who are fed up with their idealogue inability to compromise and treat the people equally under the law; their obstinant inability to govern!
