Is end already in sight for Trump?

The Trump administration is nothing but a stream of mistakes and ongoing chaos. Although I don't think we are close to the end yet (Trump's voters will have to begin abandoning him in force before that happens), it is pretty clear that Trump, when it comes to being president, doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. This shouldn't really surprise anybody. He's the same Trump who was a meglomaniac asshole as a candidate. What you saw is what we got.

This week's revelation that Trump apparently asked then-FBI director James Comey to drop the Flynn investigation adds a major brick to the wall it's going to take before the GOP abandons him. How many more it's going to take is an open question, but clearly there is a growing possibility that could happen.

Personally, I have no desire to see Trump impeached or resign. He's the best thing Democrats have going for them if he's still in office for the 2018 and 2020 elections. Plus, I fear that VP Mike Pence, the president in waiting, may be much more dangerous than Trump at least in the area of domestic policy. The biggest danger of a Trump presidency is that he gets us involved in some crazy war somewhere.

It's really too bad that white Republican voters were so freaking crazy last year. It was obvious that Trump was totally unqualified to be president, and sure enough ..... But hey, at least he's not that bitch Hillary, right .....

  • Actually I find Fox News is the one new's service that addresses both sides the most. Yes, they definitely lean to the right but they will interview both sides. CNN and MSNBC will rarely have a spokesman from the the right and create news with many un-named sources. In my opinion they give very little information for debate.
I find I have to watch all news sources and even the BBC when possible. Most of the "news people" on TV are just commentators. It's a good idea to seek out the journalists accounts, they tend to report with a little more scrutiny and sometimes less bias. How will ANY of these news services ever regain their credibililty.
Of course the majority of public get their news over the internet which is another conversation.
I purposely have not mentioned the newspaper journalists. I'm sure that will be addressed in another blog.

  • like i said fox news only cares about defending the right so they push agenda and propaganda that furthers that. but if you noticed during obamas years it was extremely rare that obama came under any form of scrutiny from any other media outlets. they pretty much overlooked any news that would put him under a sour light. to get a real balance between the two sides you have to see both sides of the lane and realize that the truth is somewhere between those two.

  • MSNBC is the only true liberal network, and that's as an intentional ratings counterpoint to Fox. I'd contend that ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN news are really what is mainstream. The fact that Fox deviates from them so much really reflects more on where Fox is at. Numerous studies have shown that people who rely primarily on Fox for news are consistently the least informed of all the networks. That isn't a coincidence or media bias. Fox is basically the broadcast arm of the Republican Party and does not present "fair and balanced" news.

There are those who are always too eager to stand right up and have proof for a point- or against it. A theory/explanation can be found below. (Theory because nothing in psychology is an absolute.) Only religion has unquestionable answers.

Now, where do we get our news? Short of being at a specific place- at a specific time where and when an incident occurs we try to find the truth second hand by those who say they have the facts first hand. As mentioned before, truth is very personal and not necessarily true. It is based upon trust and distrust. Two examples of this: Did the Holocaust happen? Were you there to witness it? So, who told you about it and do you trust them? Another example: Fox News. Are they indeed ‘fair and balanced?’ How many examples of wrong calls can we site that are proved or disproved by time? That said we listen as we should. Without the a personal duty to research the true, the false, and the reason for each can we recognize the actual truth? We should seek out which of the other news bureaus we may ‘choose’ to get our information from usually based upon personal bias. Which ones do we feel have a proven record to be correct over time. Every news outlet has a slant and will be wrong at some time. The most trustworthy ones will admit the error and offer a retraction. The least reliable ones will simply ignore their offering less than truth, offer justifications which only compounds the original error, but worse they would blame others in order to get the spotlight off of themselves. Just don’t point the finger back at them… They will play the victim card. Now even the worst news outlets have to be right once in a while. There is no perfect right or perfect wrong. It is up to each of us to try to recognize what truth we are looking for and be honest about it with ourselves.

  • theres really only two sides to mainstream thats liberal and fox news. foxes problem is that they usually defend the right no matter what rather than be fair and balanced. but the other liberal side, msnbc, abc, cnbc, etc only pushes leftist agenda. thats why they are critical of trump to the extreme but rarely gave obama any kind of scrutiny.

  • you can look up the actual budget just by googling it and read it for yourself. most of the "cuts" that are "literally going to kill people" are cuts to future expansion. basically it slows down the rate of growth for certain gov. funded things like food stamps etc........thats not going to kill anyone. especially if you take into consideration the stats generated by the democratic party saying that most people are off food stamps after only 9 months i think the report said?

his tax cut is also public knowledge and simplifies the tax issues and puts me into the lower bracket which is awesome since i work two jobs.

im not saying hes perfect or even a good president. but hell he hasnt had time to prove anything yet we wont even see most of his legislation go to work till the end of his 4 years. then it will take a few years for us to fully feel the effects of those. but the media would rather push conspiracies and tell us the world is coming to an end. its short sighted and ridiculous.

  • When a fool believes in something strongly enough, then it is proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the belief is totally false, they hold on even stronger to their belief. The Dems are blocking the Republican in congress? When were the Dems the majority? Who blocked who during the last presidency? There is a repeated action with ‘some groups of the population’ who attack others, but when they are the object of in-kind retaliation they always cry foul. (Why do they hate us so?) Giving the proof before the statement: The Republican president has not said anything that he hasn’t contradicted in the following moments spewing what ever cross is short lived memory. As I’ve said previously, ‘the man couldn’t tell the truth unless he though he was lying.’ You see, it doesn’t disprove what they accept as truth because it was said in a locker room… you know, guy talk, it doesn’t mean anything. He just wants attention like all the American exceptionalists who need to hold on to their truth even though all the facts say otherwise. They are for the Affordable Care Act but are against Obama Care. And if they loose their health care it is the Democrats fault. As I have also said here in the DD Blogs, He is the portrait and the Republican Party is Dorian Grey. They will eventually destroy themselves… but only after they’ve hurt many. So, if the Republicans have the majority why can’t they pass their own agendas? Conservatism is not a bad thing. It’s a point of view and in certain circumstances a good one. Some with that point of view have a conscience and hold that more important than being locked step with their party. However, they are also tempted by the drug of power they have gained as part of the majority. They seem to say, “we’ll do it just one more time then we’ll quit tomorrow.” Trump is the president because of deceit, cohesion, propaganda, foreign influence… and let us not forget, a lazy population who didn’t vote because they didn’t think or care enough. Trump represents the voting public. He is what we have and what we deserve. Until the portrait is destroyed out of conscience by seeing their own uglyness more and more will suffer… perhaps me… perhaps you.

  • Conservatives always attack the so called liberal media. But that has never been completely true. In fact todays media is more ideologically diverse than ever. What is true though is that regardless of ideology if there is controversy the media will be all over it. And there has been plenty to go around with Trump.
    BearinFW 05/29/2017 03:55 AM
  • if you havent been paying attention. all of this has been 100% propaganda from the beginning. not to say trump is a great or even good president. but the fact is since day one the liberal media has been on high attack and could care less if there is any evidence to back up there claims. theyd just rather throw everything at him and hope something sticks. so far he isnt that bad of a president. his tax cut is far better than the media states. his budget isnt going to kill people like they claim either
    doankyl 05/26/2017 04:16 PM
  • No one should really be surprised by all the chaos around Trump. He has been exactly the same as president as he was as a candidate.
    BearinFW 05/24/2017 09:42 PM
  • I don't think there will be a presidential election in 2018. Unfortunately we HAVE to wait until 2020. Wrong. Of the 2, at least Hillary had a little more experience as a government official. Lesser of the 2 evils.

  • The only ones totally happy about this is the media. Except for Fox they pretty much think he's a bullshit artist. It's like a never ending soap opera. CNN is one continuous BREAKING NEWS! It's not going to end pretty for any of us. The so called president and his family are running the country like one of his failed ventures. Once they subpoena his taxes, it's over. They're gonna find Russian connections up the ying yang. It's gonna take a decade to undo the shit he's done in 100+ days. If I believed in god, I'd pray to him....

  • I think Trump won because enough white voters were mad about the direction the country is headed in and wanted change. Trump is a change all right but not likely what those voters were hoping for. As of now the Republican Party is so divided that it is incapable of governing. Its hard to blame Dems too much because anything they propose is deep-sixed by the GOP. But Washington is just a mess.
    BearinFW 05/18/2017 09:41 PM
  • I was a Trump supporter, because I do not think Hillary deserved to be President.
Altho I am not happy with what is happening I would like to see what Trump could do for the policy and economy of the country without all the obstruction. He certainly has gotten himself into a lot of problems but I believe that we did need change and that many of his policies would be helpful if allowed to proceed.
Or better yet if the Republicans and the Democrats could possibly work together for the betterment of the American people. That doesn't seem to ever be accomplished in this unacceptable political climate.
The entire government and the way both sides are acting makes me very sad, and both sides should be ashamed!!! We have such a wonderful country and to allow our politicians to destroy it is really sinful.
I don't know what I will do in 2018 or 2020. The Democrats have come up with nothing except being against Trump. And the Republicans can't seem to get together as an united front. Right now neither one deserve my vote or support. And Bernie Sanders and his group are just not my idea of American Success.
What a shame and how does it get better?
