The U.S. and Western Europe threatened Uganda with possible sanctions if this became law. Now that it has, it's time for the West to follow up. Empty warnings would be far worse than no warnings at all.
True, we can't make other countries accept our vision of human rights. However, our vision of human rights compels us not to do business as usual with them either.
