I think just about everybody had bailed on the Grammy thread before this one came up. So I thought it deserved its own topic as many of you might be interested.
I think this song, "Smell Yo Dick" by Riskay, is a serious candidate for worst song ever. The only thing holding it back is that it's funny for a few seconds, which other candidates, for example, Paul Anka's "Having My Baby", don't have going for them. But the song is overall so wretched that it comes very close to overcoming that handicap.

I'm going to pick on another band that was popular in the late 60s/early 70s and actually did some good stuff.
But Three Dog Night also churned out some absolute garbage that seemed to be targeted at pre-teens: "Joy to the World" and "Mama Told Me Not to Come" being the two awful offenders.
And bearkatz, don't imagine "Smell Yo" would ever go high in the charts because it would get zero radio play :)
And cubby, is that song a parody of Gangnam Style (also a real bad one)?
"Who Let the Dogs Out" -- what a weird song to get popular.
This song is probably generally regarded as the all time worst popular song, or certainly on the short list. And it's hard to argue against it: "You're Having My Baby" by Paul Anka.

And here's another that I find comically bad but cringe when I hear it. The visuals are too repulsive :)

I'd recommend a lot of music by the current generation of pop "artists like Minaj or the rappers or Bieber or Miley, but I can't judge them without at least giving them a listen (and I'm so not willing to do that).
