This is one of the biggest upsets in recent electoral history and frankly, there is nothing good about it. Shocks like this will continue to scare mainstream Republicans and push the party further and further to the right.
We thought accomplishing anything in the current House was bad. It's only going to get worse, and immigration reform is now completely dead as long as the GOP is in control of the House.
The only minor plus in this, if there is one, is that the further right the GOP goes, the less likely it is that they will win a presidential election. God forbid what might happen if one of these Tea Party types was elected prez with a GOP controlled Congress. I can't imagine what a disaster that would be for the country.
