A sign of progress?

OK, was having trouble sleeping this a.m. (around 5) and was watching the dumb show "Ridiculousness" on MTV when I saw a commercial that made my jaw drop.

The ad was for a sexy chat "hotline," but this one didn't feature the usual hot girls. Instead, it was for a gay male chat "hotline." Yikes. On MTV, and not even a gay-oriented show!

BTW, the chat line is real. It's for an outfit named GuySpy.

  • Oh yeah. The shock was seeing an ad like that on TV, especially on a relatively major network. That would have been unthinkable not long ago at all. Of course, I don't know if there is enough market for that to be a good value ad purchase, but I imagine rates aren't all that much at that time of morning.

  • So, how was the chat at 5:00 am? Did you get Alphonso or maybe Chuck? lol

Well, it was bound to come; they've had phone lines for gays for many years already, just not advertised on TV. Lots of teens (esp in college) stay up really late and are searching to find their sexuality. Probably a lucrative business. Difficult to check age however. I think young guys see what they want when they want it now. The cat is out of the bag, so to speak. Here is the photo on one online source for a Gay Hotline. Who would invite this guy in for something . . . .
