Ga. GOP chair: Gay marriage will lead to fraud by straight people marrying each other
Says same-sex marriage 'is all about a free ride'
Staff Reports
The head of the Georgia Republican Party says that legalizing same-sex marriage will lead to fraud by straight people who will claim they are gay so they can marry their straight friends and “get all the benefits” of marriage.

Sue Everhart of Cobb, Ga., who is apparently unaware that anyone can already marry a person of the opposite gender in order to receive benefits granted to a legal spouse, told the Marietta Daily Journal that same-sex marriage is “all about a free ride” for gays.
“Lord, I’m going to get in trouble over this, but it is not natural for two women or two men to be married,” Everhart said. “If it was natural, they would have the equipment to have a sexual relationship.”
Everhart said while she respects all people, if same-sex marriage is legalized across the country, there will be fraud.
“You may be as straight as an arrow, and you may have a friend that is as straight as an arrow,” Everhart said. “Say you had a great job with the government where you had this wonderful health plan. I mean, what would prohibit you from saying that you’re gay, and y’all get married and still live as separate, but you get all the benefits? I just see so much abuse in this it’s unreal. I believe a husband and a wife should be a man and a woman, the benefits should be for a man and a woman. There is no way that this is about equality. To me, it’s all about a free ride.

“I’m just saying I’m against marriage because once you get the gay marriage you get everything else.”
Everhart also said if she had a young child, she wouldn’t want them to have gay parents who would influence that child’s sexual orientation.
“You’re creating with this child that it’s a lifestyle, don’t go out and marry someone else of a different sex because this is natural,” Everhart said.
it's all about the free ride, you know!
At this point the right is just flinging shit against the wall hoping some desperate argument against same-sex marriage will stick. This one ignores a couple of basic points: A., if you're going to commit marriage fraud, it's a lot easier to do it in a heterosexual marriage; and B., heterosexuals, for the most part, are really not that keen on the idea of being considered gay.
bearlyy, maybe this is where the quote has been taken from?: http://www.mdjonline.com/view/full_story/22108736 … lead_story
It would be even funnier if she were not an elected official. How pathetic. Just goes to show that stupidity has no bounds. I guess, too, from here equipment comment that neither she or her husband go down on each other.
