i've recently had 2 experiences that started me thinking and wondering...
a woman i know was talking about a mutual gay friend and she said that i'd be surprised if i knew about his past and how many men he's had sex with. "how many?" i, of course, asked and she replied, "a lot". i said that didn't surprise me and then she said, "i mean hundreds". i said that didn't surprise me either and she looked at me open mouthed as if she was shocked.
then, i was reading something about mick jagger and they made a big point about the fact that he's estimated to have had sex with at least 4000 women. okay? we're talking about mick jagger here. in my generation, practically everybody wanted to have sex with mick jagger so why is that surprising?
me, myself, have always been a big ole slut so i've had sex with quite a few. a thousand guys is not an outrageous estimate. there were plenty of times in my past when i had sex with more than one guy a day. i was once riding a bus and from the time i got on until the time i got off, i ran into 4 guys that i'd had sex with. i live in a conservative, repressed town but the crowd i ran with had similar experience. lord knows what it could have been like if we'd live in nyc or sf.
up until about two years ago, i was pretty much still active, though not nearly so much as in my past, but between ages 40 and 58, i had a lot more sex than in the previous years.
is that THAT unusual? judging by the gay friends i have, i don't think so.
your thoughts?
For another perspective, I crunched the numbers. Jagger is now 69, and I GUESStimated that he became sexually active at 16. That gives him 53 years of sexual activity or, rounded up, 1.5 sexual encounters a week for those years. Is that a lot? If you actually crunched your numbers of sexual encounters over the years you've been sexually active, it probably would not come out to seem like you've been having that much sex. lol.
I'm with the rest of you here, Jagger...nope! I love the Stones' music and showmanship, but that's as far as my love goes.
I also agree with BearinFW about the shift in promiscuity. Back in the 60's and 70's it was hundreds, but since then not so much and I'm also happy that way.
I know I am not nearly and prefer not to be.
