the inaugeration..............OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

once again, i was totally blown away. 4 years ago, i blubbed thru the whole thing. this time around when he mentioned stonewall and when he cited his gay brothers and sisters as needing equality. i lost it again. for the first time in my life i feel that i, MYSELF, actually have a president. i'm just overwhelmed and i am so proud.

bless president obama!

  • I also was very emotional at the moment he elevated Stonewall to the major level of rights movements in the history of our country It was an great moment for every gay person in the world, even those who do not recognize it as such.

  • I missed that part of the speech unfortunately but I'm very happy he gave us such a strong mention. Obama started out very slowly on gay issues but has easily made up for it. He has been by far the best president on gay issues, though to be fair things have changed dramatically since Bill Clinton was president. The next Democratic president will probably be even more pro.gay. I'll have to admit though that I hope for the day when one of our own is president.

  • Yesssssssssssss and such a model for the nation, both the President and his wonderful family! I hope for great things during this second term. Obviously, there are obstacles, but at least (this time) the opposition (conservative Republicans) could not feasibly meet the same night our president was elected to plan his demise. Mitch McConnell can't pledge that his HIGHest priority is to get our president out of office. LOL I'm VERY tempted to go to Tennessee to work to unseat that bastard in the 2014 election. There sure are some worthless congressmen from that state!

  • "OUR JOURNEY IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL OUR GAY BROTHERS AND SISTERS ARE TREATED LIKE ANYONE ELSE UNDER THE LAW. FOR IF WE ARE TRULY CREATED EQUAL,THEN SURELY THE LOVE WE COMMIT TO ONE ANOTHER MUST BE EQUAL AS WELL"......BARRACK OBAMA, JANUARY 21, 2013

  • Yeah, I felt the same way....I think THIS President is going to work to make it happen....I think the Supreme Court, when they hear it in June, is going to be in favor of all our rights as citizens. I heard a person say the other day that we have proven that those of color have rights as citizens but gays do not, they do not have the same rights as straights which makes us second class citizens, or not created equil. That needs to change and I feel Obama will push to make that change.
