If you had to choose...#10

If you had to choose...would you rather be

(A) A very generous person but unremarkable looking, OR

(B) An extremely greedy person but gorgeous?

  • I value generosity over greediness. Also, many guys, like myself, look for less-than-perfect mates (whether for casual sex or for a long-term relationship.

And I can't help but make a political statement here because, to me, Republicans seem like the greedy type and Democrats seem like the generous type. Big money has bought too much influence in our society. It looks as if they will continue to benefit from the subjugation the middle class by hedging bets on our mortgages, charging abusive interest rates (esp. on the poor who live from paycheck to paycheck), and export our jobs overseas. If our government had any balls at all anymore, it would crack down on all the big banks, split them up and then look at the corporations for the same treatment.

  • Thought about this one for a while too...

My choice is A - the reason: beauty doesn't last nearly as long we'd like... usually character does last...

Beauty fades with time. Love, respect, honor, and other desirable attributes of character and value tend to endure.

Being "generous" does NOT have to mean that I would likely inherit the other's worldly goods and wealth. Being "generous" in terms of gracious living, quality living, shared living takes on so much more in meaning (for me).

  • The unfortunate reality is that in much of the gay community, the answer would be B. We have become incredibly narcissistic, especially in large cities.

  • I have read all your “Choose” blog questions and the alternative answers that you pose and I am still wondering what the point of the questions and choices are supposed to be.

All of your alternative answers require a judgment call on the definition of words that are purely relative to the person that perceives the meaning of the words you are using, and because of that, any response to the questions you ask become pointless because you do not know the relative point of view of the person responding.

For example, the words you chose to hang your answers upon are “stunning”, “boring”, “unappealing”, “beautiful”, “incredible”, “spectacular”, “adventurous”, “fabulous”, “knock out”, “exquisite”, “mediocre”, “rich”, “generous”, “greedy”, “unremarkable”, “gorgeous”… Many words in the English language are defined by definitions that require a judgment call to be made. What one person considers “stunning”, “boring”, “and unappealing”, etc., another person may consider to be “everyday”, “exciting”, and “worth having an orgasm over”, etc. In order for you get an accurate response from anyone, they would have to think in an identical way to you, and if they think identically to you, then you already know the answers, so is there a point to your “Choose” blogs?

Once you get to terms like “rich”, “generous” and “greedy”, you have entered the land of “relative to what?” and you will never be able to pin down the definition of the words.
