What a profound year this was for gay rights, especially marriage rights.
Beautiful BDGF - Congratulations!
Married my long term partner 23 yrs together... so it was wonderful
Hisbiguy, thanks for sharing your story. WOW, what a wonderful way to be married! Congratulations to both of you.
On December 6th my partner and I celebrated 30 years together. We reserved a banquet room at a local restaurant and invited 45 family and friends to celebrate with us. Soon after the invitations were mailed out we decided that we were going to make this legal. But it was to be kept secret until we were all gathered at the banquet room. In the mean time I approached the rector of my church (Episcopal) to perform our ceremony. We obtained our license and all was going as planned. At the "party" we thanked everyone in attendance for sharing our celebration and then we thanked them for attending our wedding. At this point they all stood and applauded! What a thrill! To have those people dearest in our lives to share our joy.
yes
The marriage ruling represents the beginning of the end for governmental discrimination in the U.S. It won't end overnight, but there is no longer any legal basis for any governmental body in the U.S. to discriminate against gay people.
was an incredible year
