The club has been functioning for years. Its members are all like minded- in that if one is into fair play on a level playing field when it comes to themselves- but not necessarily for others- then they are socially Republicans. So, the party of bombast who has always told everyone what ‘everyone else’ should do, even and most especially if they don’t follow the rules themselves, has let into their tribe someone who was just like them… but even more so. He is all the things they are, but they knew enough to keep them hidden away in a dark room. They have been exposed when someone knocked the chamber door off its hinges. It is their mirror and they don’t like what they see.
Now, those who are throwing the cotillion (The 2016 Republican National Convention to be held in Cleveland, Ohio at the Quicken Loans Arena July 18-21, 2016) to present the latest eligible debutant are stuck. They really want the perfect idealized image of themselves, their Dorian Grey. They don’t want the portrait of what they have actually become. In the Oscar Wilde story Dorian destroys the picture resulting in his destruction. Well, there seems to be a new twist to the tale presently. As ugly as the portrait is everyone wants to justify the image- not cut it up into bits. “I know, lets make the likeness the party logo then dress up to look like it as if it were normal and good. Then just say what it is… the latest fad and everyone who is anyone is costumed in the bloody fashion.”
The rest of the story has yet to be written. Will the Dems and Independents run like hell away from the party of Trump or will they think it strange but look at it as if it were so much fun... then do anything to get an invitation to the four years celebration?
As Trump wins enough delegates to represent that party you will see even more outlandish justifications of people to vote for him to be president. As he is 'different' how many Democrats might choose him even though he is 'not qualified', over someone whom they don’t trust. I feel that as long as she does not become a Margaret Thatcher- privatizing everything, (and I don’t thing she will) Hillary will not be a bad Commander in Chief.
The confirmation of what I wrote will be proved or disproved in the coming months.
