Maybe it's me. . .

But shouldn't websites like this have blogging related to sex or relationships between younger and older men? Aren't there other websites offering blogs for wannabe book reviewers? And shouldn't other prospective bloggers (besides myself) jump in there with something more interesting to say? WAKE UP!!!!

I'm sure that someone will want to tear me a new asshole. But, guess what? I don't need a new asshole, only something more interesting to read. NOT Stephanie Meyers! She writes for lame brained teen girlies! And for giggly twinks.

Surely there are important things to share than teen vampires and the the empty headed chickies that adore them!

  • I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I personally would rather read something interesting than the same old hookup ads or ramblings about sexual encounters or people whining about their sex lives (or the lack of it in some cases).
But I think I've found the best solution to deal with them, and it works fantastically for me.. I just read whatever interests me and ignore the rest :)

  • Anyone who posts their thoughts on an open forum should expect the possibility of criticism. It's just part of the price of posting. And the more controversial the opinion, the more criticism is likely. It isn't anything personal. Just life on the Net.

  • I agree with rae....if you don't like it, don't read it. Your blog entry is just a way of bullying to stop others who have something to say that may not interest you or you may not agree with to stop. I'm sure you've written blogs on here that some have rolled their eyes at. When building a community, such as a web site, and you start denying the words of some and not others, you've caused a discrimination and there is no place for discrimination. Just because YOU don't want to read it doesn't mean others don't want to read it. I have a couple of suggestions, either don't read what you don't want to read, take it up with Marc, the webmaster, and see how far it get's (and I would expect not far, he has respect for ALL feelings and views, not just yours), or, just simply, don't log on. And, as I have noticed, you are not a supporter of this site. Souldn't we look at how many "supporters" don't want to read these type of blogs? In other words, don't be a bully to those who chose to voice an oppinion, a feeling, or share something with others. Bullying to get your way is just not cool.

  • The world is full of choices. I choose what to eat, what to wear, where to go, who to associate with, what TV programs to watch, and what to read...

The same is true with reading something on the internet.

I also choose whether to chime in with my two cents worth, or not - as the spirit moves...

Lately I have been moved to chime in on the yahoo news reports (when I sign in there are some news articles on a variety of subjects) - those are generally lively topics. Hard to believe the cutting and denigrating and mean-spirited ways people talk to strangers! Absolutely appalling.

I did come across a blog - one I created for myself... but, frankly, don't have time to post pictures, keep things/comments going and so forth... Time is a precious commodity. That which is of interest grabs my attention - therefore my time. These ideas apply equally to the blogs that are posted here...

I do enjoy topics on this site because the blog postings generally speak to male issues - relationships, hook ups, relationships, the topics of the day that relate to men who share some nominally-similar interest (i. e., connecting at a personal level with other men)...

I do not enter into discussion that are, by their very nature, divisive topics... Such topics certainly include politics and religion. If I have a personal opinion that is at the total opposite of someone's posted comments I generally will shy away from engaging in that topic simply because if I am sooooo far removed in my opinion the chasm between us probably will not be reduced. After all, the communication is limited to written rather than verbal... In verbal communication other skills apply - active listening among them... When using written communication the mere selection of words can be a BIG factor that leads to misunderstanding... add to that, the fact that there is space limitations on this site...

C'est la vie. Live and let live... Write what one wants... read what one wants... ignore the rest...

  • No it's not just you. My pet peeve is when people confuse the blogs with the quick hook up ads. I must admit, I have been guilty of reviewing a movie or a T.V. show thinking someone might find it helpful. Also, once in a blue moon is one thing, but when it's a daily column it can become a bit much. I guess if they have at least one response, it's enough fuel to keep them going.

  • there is a webmaster in place. i'm sure that if something is inappropriate, the webmaster will take wahtever steps are needed. that being said, no one forces anyone else to read anything on this site. if you don't like it, don't read it.

  • Oh I don't know guy. One of the things I like about the open blog on this site is that people can write about just about anything -- even teen vampires. However, I do think one item on the topic would be sufficient :)
