Happy VD!

Of course I meant Valentine's Day! Or, I should have said St. Valentine's Day. Anyway, how has this day been for you? Are you with someone that you love (as I am)? Have someone on your mind? Or are you alone? I have been a romantic all my life. Even when I was a little boy I bought Valentine cards for my Mom. Don't get that wrong! I loved my Mom because she loved me as a good mother should love her child. Maybe it was a sign that I was "different" that I idolized my mother rather than my father (?). I loved and respected Dad too, but not quite as much as Mom. Mom cooked and baked cakes and pies. Mom nursed me through all the childhood illnesses. She taught me manners. She taught me respect for my elders. She disciplined me when it was needed. She taught me about love. Unfortunately she has been gone 26 years and never got to meet the man who is the love of my life. I never got to come out to her. I'm sure that she suspected my orientation.

Anyway, long story short, if you do not have a significant other in your life (and feel unloved) there has been someone somewhere who has loved you. And love is what this day is all about.

  • hisbiguy I spent Valentines Day alone again, this has been the 4th year alone since my partner died in 08 and let me tell you once you get used to having the one you love with you on Valentines Day it's really hard when you are alone. So txholduup I guess I will just have to start the SAD thing also. Hugs and kisses men!
