Where Have All the Bloggers Gone?
Have we hit a dry spot? No one has anything to say? No one has a pressing issue? No one has a sexual quirk to share? Everyone is content in all matters including the upcoming presidential election. While we are on the subject, why do all the candidates have weird names? Barack? Newt? Mit? WTF? Rick and Paul don't have a chance. How about the economy? How about taxes? What about gay marriage? Be careful what you ask for. Is it OK to take cum in your mouth? Canm we stop worrying about HIV AIDS? For Chrisakes say something!
OK. Here are my quick answers to some of the suggested questions:
I have nothing to say. I almost feel like I'm becoming agoraphobic without the fear/anxiety part. I just don't like to leave the house/yard! There is nothing out there I need/want/desire except some groceries every few days.
Elections: I despise the fact that state/county governments are paying for primary "elections". Nothing is being elected except votes are counted which might be used to assign delegates at a national convention for a private party. Why don't we have state run primary elections to select president of Elks, Moose or HRC? Here's why... these 2 parties have written themselves into the election laws of every state. Just try to have a 3rd party primary in your state -- you'll be told to go fuck yourself.
I'm still waffling on the Electoral College. Part of me hates the idea of "popular vote" elections. It just this side of mob rule. But on the other hand, the same 2 parties have made laws in so many that the electoral votes are "winner take all", so it is possible to win enough electoral votes with hardly any popular votes http://youtu.be/OUS9mM8Xbbw
I guess I'm for a "cleaner" electoral college. Because I'm also against the 17th amendment. Before that amendment the U.S. Senators were appointed by the state legislature. Messy, but local. Now with the popular (mob like) election of Senators the elected officials answer to the lobbyists who pay for their election, not the states.
Gay marriage: Until the federal tax code recognizes it, all 50 states can allow it. Each state will still have its own laws about community property, survivors, etc. Marriage is for churches. But a license from the state is what makes it legal. Why?
