Runner collapses at the 26 mile mark in yesterdays Boston Marathon and other runners carry him to the finish line. Brought tears to my eyes.
Hey FD--in the NY Times today, a pretty humorous article on the BM; the guy who wrote it gamely put that he finished 28,889th out of 31,931! My favorite line comes from the text that his buddy sent him: “It’s in The Globe, a top 29,000 finish!” :) Humor aside, the overall theme of the article was just how good the race felt and how generous and compassionate the racers and those watching were, and how it all made for a special day. Very nice of those folks who helped him cross the line. They HAD to be totally exhaused themselves by that time after 26 miles of a hard race.
