SWEET CAROLINE

Another Opening Day at Fenway Park is under my belt. Game time temperature was a balmy 39 degrees with wind blowing in from the east right off the water. The game went 12 innings and almost 4 hours. Red Sox won 3-2. I left in the top of the 11th. I only live 3 blocks away, so I was home in time to see them win. In spite of the cold, I was warmed by some beautiful eye candy. Aprils at Fenway Park can be brutal, but it toughing's you up for the post season in Oct.

  • How was the eye candy? I'm from Baltimore and, at least our O's aren't quiet as embarrassing!

  • "...but it toughing's you up for the post season in Oct." That's true fan optimism! I've not tuned in for a game yet. I'm still watching the final games of the NBA before the playoffs start, and then there's the Masters through this weekend, so there's a lot--sports wise--to keep me occupied.

I'm not tough like you. My first game is an afternoon game in May when the Dodgers are visiting. It might not be sunny, but for sure not cold! To date I've just been following the box scores for my Dodgers. They are off to a so-so start but it's a long season. Like you, I'm optimistic. See you in October! :)
