LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE

These days it's hard to tell who are more disgusting, the president or his children or the staff that surround that family. One lies and the other swears to it. The story changes every time you turn on the television. "I never met with the Russians" Well I did but it was about adoptions. Well maybe it was more than that. I am nothing but a rotten liberal, the news media is all fake (except fox of course) and the first family are the greatest humans to walk the face of the earth. He ran on a platform of MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. I have always believed America is and has always been GREAT! Unfortunately once he leaves office and hopefully sooner than later, America has some serious healing to do. I hope our allies have the time and the patients. I hope I do too.....

  • I don't see why we don't just fix our countries problem rather than adopt another countries flawed system. It's been a lot easier just to get rid of all the burdensome regulations. On top of that the effect it will have on individual care is troubling. Government has final say in that scenario regardless of a persons ability to pay out of pocket much like that Charlie Gard boy. The fact that our population is FAR larger than Canada's is also a factor.
    doankyl 08/15/2017 09:52 AM
  • A lot of the problems are way overblown by hostile interests in *this* country. Sure, any system is going to have outlier problems. But if you talk to *real* Canadians, the vast majority are quite happy with their national system. You certainly could not say the same about residents of this country.
    BearinFW 08/12/2017 04:49 AM
  • There is also a ton of other problems that comes along with it. Each other country has there own way of doing it and each one has plenty of problems because of it. It won't work well in our country
    doankyl 08/11/2017 03:54 PM
  • Every other first world nation except us provides free healthcare to its citizens. We could too, but our country is paralyzed by negativity about the concept.
    BearinFW 08/11/2017 04:38 AM
  • I disagree with that to an extent. You as a human should have the right to get good health care, just like you have the right to eat food or live in a home. But declaring it a right and having the government provide that right isn't a solution. Our country isn't equipped to deal with it and I believe that the government will only make things worse, because of the many problems that it comes with.
    doankyl 08/08/2017 09:28 AM
  • Basic healthcare should be a right. Guess from here is we will eventually go with something similar to what Canada has. Our current model is way too expensive, as insurance companies and providers collude to drive prices up.
    BearinFW 08/08/2017 04:28 AM
  • If you go on to a left website where they discuss Bernie Sanders pushing a bill that declares healthcare a right you'll see plenty of the left spewing hateful vitriol at anyone who merely states that they disagree. Trust me the hate occurs on both sides pretty equally. The left lost their minds when trump became president and did all of the same things that they blamed the right for doing when Obama was president. You'll see the cycle continue with the next Democrat president. I'm willing to put money on that
    doankyl 08/07/2017 02:42 PM
  • All you have to do is check out comments on general news websites .....
    BearinFW 08/06/2017 04:49 AM
  • Actually it's pretty equal when you factor in all the groups from both sides. Republicans had tea party Democrats have antifa. Both are extremes but both affiliate with either party. With trump in the white house for some what 9 months now and you still have silly name calling not sure how you can point out one over the other.......oh wait I forgot who was making the comparison
    doankyl 08/04/2017 11:14 AM
  • It is really a shame that it is no longer even possible to have a civil discussion online. The divide between the two Americas is just so vast. But it isn't completely equal. For whatever reason, the nation's right wing has become increasingly cynical, bitter and just plain mean. That's true of some on the left, as well, but on the right it seems to be pervasive. I still don't for the life of me understand why white people in this country are so damned *angry.* I know things haven't gone as well as some would like (me included, in many ways), but it's not exactly like our culture is collapsing or something, despite what you might hear on some right-wing media. And as gay Americans, especially, I think we have a lot more to be happy about than not.
    BearinFW 08/04/2017 01:17 AM
  • Wow you are dense. I'm perfectly ok with the investigation. One of two things are gonna happen 1. They will find nothing. 2 they will find something. If they find something then yes prosecute him. If they don't then move on. But no one on the left seems to want the investigation to actually do it's job. They've already said he's guilty so they don't care about truth or justice they only care about taking down trump.

Also there is no "bait and switch" here it's called morality. Our justice system is based on equal Justice for all. We should strive to make it equal for all. If we are going to go after trump for something he did that was possibly illegal then we should also go after Clinton. I never said stop going after trump. So again I invite you to remove your head from your ass. Look at this from both sides rather than your own immoral perspective.
    doankyl 08/03/2017 11:19 AM
  • OK, I want to explain that I'm not picking on Doankyl here. This is a classic bait and switch that the Trump people are pulling on the American public and especially on their own supporters. If Hillary did the same thing (or worse) then that's where they should be looking and our guy's not so bad.

Look, it doesn't matter if Hillary is the most evil, conniving, mass-murdering bitch in history. The fact that someone else did the same crimes or worse than you did does not absolve you of the crimes you may have committed. This would be akin to a murderer arguing, well I only killed five people, but John Wayne Gacy killed 33. So I'm no so bad!

Trump should be judged on his own actions. Not how they relate to Hillary or anyone else.
    BearinFW 08/03/2017 04:12 AM
  • No they dont mean anything illegal transpired but you seem to have completely missed my point in your rush to anoint me a head up my ass liberal who is just out to get our poor picked on president. I said the facts merit an investigation. If you dont look how do you know what happened? Guarantee if Hillary had been elected the GOP would have dozens of investigations going. If you want to prosecute (persecute?) her now be my guest, but it would be a colossal waste of time.
    BearinFW 08/02/2017 09:39 PM
  • I don't think you understand what quid pro quo means.

I never said anything to deny those facts that you just posted. Problem is those facts don't mean anything illegal transpired from the trump campaign.

But hey since you like throwing out irrelevant facts here are a few for you. FACT Hillary and her campaign met with the Ukrainian government for the exact same reasons. FACT Susan Rice unmasked hundreds of records pertaining to trump during his campaign. FACT Schultz had destroyed hard drives which she is now under investigation for. But I doubt you know anything about this stuff since you only watch CNN.

And last time I'll say this to your completely idiotic remark. I have 3 channels on my TV. All local channels and none of them play fox news at any point of the day. I also have two jobs so rarely watch TV, even if it did air on my TV which only has three channels I wouldn't have time to sit and watch it. I do have the internet at my disposal so I spend my free time doing some research from multiple sources on both sides. Something you would GREATLY benefit from if you could ever pull your head out of the ass of liberalism.
    doankyl 08/02/2017 05:10 PM
  • Fact: There is undisputed evidence of contact between the Russians and the Trump campaign. Fact: The Russians hacked the DNC and key players in the Clinton campaign. Fact (assuming you believe Donald Trump Jr.): The Russians did at least make the offer of information on Clinton to the Trump campaign. I don't know if this goes any further, but all but the most brainwashed Trump supporters should be able to see that there is more than enough smoke to merit an investigation.

But hey, watch Fox News and you'll know that all the problems in the country are the fault of Democrats and the loony left. BTW, Democrats in the Senate have offered to work with the Republican majority on tax and health care reform. The GOP has no interest in doing so.
    BearinFW 08/02/2017 04:08 PM
  • Only problem is so far for all the left bluster their is zero evidence of any quid pro quo. If you are so worried about trump hurting us with ties to Russia then I go back to why didn't you say anything when Obama was caught red handed on a live Mike making promises to Russia? You have a really crazy double standard here.
    doankyl 08/02/2017 02:13 PM
  • Doankyl you dont seem to grasp the potential gravity of the Russia probe. The BIG difference is that Trump is the sitting president. Hillary is a private citizen and IF she did commit any crimes they dont affect the US going forward. On the other hand if Trump owes the Russian government for helping him during the election or if Trump's business interests are intertwined, those things could affect Trumps decision making and American policy toward Russia. And in case you havent noticed Russia is NOT a friend. Just last week it emerged that Russia may be arming the Taliban, which is killing US soldiers in Afghanistan. Cant you see that the Russia probe is far more important than just election sour grapes?
    BearinFW 08/01/2017 11:10 PM
  • So by your standard Trump shouldn't be prosecuted either and the left should be working to mend the country...........you realize that you and 90% of the left are doing the exact opposite of that right? I haven't seen you once say that we need to move on when it comes to what trump has done and as of yet there is less proof of that than there is with Hillary's various crimes. Maybe you need to Google the definition of hypocrite.....or maybe you just don't care about being moral ?
    doankyl 08/01/2017 10:48 PM
  • Because its in the tradition of this country we dont rub it in and move forward rather than looking back. We try (or should) to mend fences rather than building them higher. If you recall, many on the left wanted to prosecute Geoge W Bush after the 2008 election too and Obama wisely did not. Simply put whatever crimes Hillary may have committed arent worth the damage to the country that prosecuting her might cause. The risk outweighs the benefit. Now whether Trump is smart enough to realize that remains to be seen. Hes trying like hell to divert attention from the Russia probe.
    BearinFW 08/01/2017 09:33 PM
  • Why would that divide the country? Right is tight and wrong is wrong. I honestly can't comprehend your willingness to turn a blind eye to her but not to others. What's your reasoning?
    doankyl 08/01/2017 06:21 PM
  • There is nothing to assume she did commit crimes. Comey claimed she didn't have bad intentions which has nothing to do with the law. If you steal a candy bar and get caught does it matter what your intentions are?
    doankyl 08/01/2017 06:19 PM
  • Doankyl, you make the assumption she committed crimes. But she was cleared by the FBI. Trump has actually talked about prosecuting her but though it would make his base happy it would be politically destructive. Why would you want to divide the country even further?
    BearinFW 08/01/2017 06:01 PM
  • Why investigate Hillary you ask? Because she committed crimes. She broke the law. If you break the law you'd be thrown in prison. Why does she get yet another pass??
    doankyl 08/01/2017 02:38 PM
  • I never voted for trump. It just makes me sick to see how hypocritical you all are. It's the end of the world because it's someone you don't like. But if it's someone you do then it's perfectly fine.
    doankyl 08/01/2017 02:35 PM
  • @rimmigay. Thanks for giving us empirical evidence that idiocy is not confined to our shores. :)
    furball 07/31/2017 06:20 PM
  • OK. Are you Russian, by chance? :)
    BearinFW 07/31/2017 02:55 PM
  • It's nothing but a bunch of sore losers bitter and frustrated by the outcome. They will never get over it,even if -what I would suggest-they get sedatiuves prescribed by their doctors.Let them and their crappy fake news media continue with this mass hysteria and allegations ofno real substance, until they lose again in 2020.I do hope they will lose again, but this time by a narrow margin, which makes their defeat even more painful.
By the way, most Americans are uneducated historically ignorant jerks, who still think Russians are some kind of Big Bad Wolf sneaking into their houses in the middle of the night to eat them all.Right now the losers are even preparing for a new Cold War.I am glad the Russians have decided to fight back against a nation, who thinks it owns the world.
    rimmigay 07/31/2017 10:59 AM
  • The point of the Russia investigation is to find out the extent of the contacts between the Russian government and the Trump campaign and to what extent there was collusion. If the full extent of it was the meeting about adoption about which Trump Jr. was misled, well, it's not great, but not anything that's going to get them in *too* much trouble. But we know that the Russians hacked the DNC and other Democrats involved in the Clinton campaign. Did they give the info to the Trump people? Did the campaign coordinate with the Russians on when to release material? Not saying these things happened, but the fact that the questions are so serious should explain why they have to be investigated.

  • A lawyer, a spy, a mob boss, and a money launderer walk into a bar. The bartender says:
"You guys must be here to talk about adoption"
    IndyBear69 07/29/2017 01:45 PM
  • Doankyl, just because you voted for the guy doesn't mean you can't change your mind and face facts. Trump is a fool and a liar and can't be trusted on *anything.* The truth is simply whatever he wants it to be at a given moment.

Remember when Trump touted himself as a great friend of gay people? Hah. As soon as he gets in trouble he retreats to his religious right base and throws us under the bus. Without telling *anyone* (Congress, the Pentagon) he unilaterally decided to ban transgendered people from the military. Even the RR didn't ask for that. They wanted the military to refuse to pay for gender reassignment costs, not to ban trans people entirely. The same day, he instructed the Justice Department to argue that sexual orientation is not protected in the workplace.

He's so freaking scared of the Russia probe that he's getting rid of all the reasonable people in his administration (Prebus and soon to be Sessions) and relying on nut jobs.

My own thought, given the fact that he saves his most outrageous tweets for the wee hours of the night, is that the guy is most likely a raging alcoholic. At any rate, he clearly isn't fit to be president, which should have been obvious all along.

As far as investigating Hillary goes .... why? She lost the election and is retired from elective life. Whatever she may or may not have done doesn't absolve Trump and his cronies. This is what we get for electing an egomaniac with ZERO experience in government. WHY on earth did the people who voted for him expect anything different? He showed what he is throughout the primaries and the general election. He is what he is, and he isn't going to change.

  • This gives us time - the non-america-countries of this world - to take advantage in industry (climate) and new multilateral programes, and be a bit more selfconfident. Mr. Trumps shows the world we don't need the USA as much. TVnews is a daily fake-reality show nowadays ... a bit scary, though.

furball, you are a very kind and patient person ...
    art4you 07/26/2017 08:21 AM
  • Also Obama knew about Russian meddling well before hand and did nothing, so why aren't people talking about his failing in this as a president?

And you say no one would do what don't jr did? Um what about Hillary who met with a foreign government for the exact same reasons? That's the exact same thing so if we are going after don jr. Why are we not also going after Hillary?

This all seems way to one sided. If you hate, or dislike Trump that's fine but you can't hold him to standards you refuse to recognize for everyone else.
    doankyl 07/22/2017 12:31 AM
  • Ok so what is the potential quid pro quo? We got the quid out of the way but there's been no pro quo. What has the Russian government gained in all of this? How has the people in question served the Russian government in return for what may have been but isn't actually collusion?
    doankyl 07/22/2017 12:24 AM
  • @doankyl. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the President Trump or any other past presidents, current or past cabinet members, like Secretaries Tillerson and Clinton, having contact with Russians. Nixon/Kissinger worked with the then USSR to formulate Détente and SALT I; Carter/Brezinski, SALT II; Reagan/Baker engaged the hell out of Soviets and in turn their efforts are partially responsible for the demise of the USSR and the now current Russian state and borders, which, as an aside, Putin hates, and Clinton/Alrbight engaging with, my personal favorite, President Yeltsin. The common things the aforementioned Americans have are that their engagement was primarily concerned with the security of the US in context of larger geopolitical concerns (Soviet expansion), and one-on-one concerns (think a bazillion ICBMS pointed between the then USSR and the USA). Additionally, the aforementioned were elected or appointed government officials, who were vetted and approved by the US senate.

What’s problematic now, or as you phrased it, “suddenly so bad”, is that the current investigation is not about what the Trump administration is doing now, but what the Trump team and campaign were doing before the election. Think Flynn’s potential quid pro quo engagement with the Russians before the Trump administration took office. Concern now is that Kushner’s contacts, which he initially did not disclose, might on the surface have more to do with business and the future promise of favorable government treatment. Unlike Flynn, where there’s certain proof of collusion and ethics violations, Kushner dealings are still under speculation. Concurrently, while these meetings were happening, then President Obama came forward and said that there’s irrefutable proof that the Russians are meddling and trying to influence the election. On the heels of President Obama’s news, the Trump team was stating that there was no involvement with their team and the Russians. Trump, at this time, is on record stating there were no meetings. Fast forward to the last two weeks, and the point of Fenway Dav’s post, is that there’s now more evidence that there were meetings between the Trump team with people associated with the Russian government, who were peddling purloined information supposedly damaging to Clinton. That’s the problem, anyone who works in Washington and knows it ways would know immediately to not even reciprocate when approached knowing the political ramifications if they were found out, and others, just because of a sense of ethics would not respond. Don Jr, for sure a neophyte in politics (which is not an excuse) took the bait. President Trump in France, admitted the meeting took place, after numerous times stating there was no contacts with the Russians; additionally he said most people would have taken that meeting. That’s not true, anyone with have a brain and/or a sense of ethics would not had taken that meeting. Don Jr is an apple that’s fallen smack under the tree.

If we’re having an honest discussion then we have to differentiate between what it means to be having contact with the Russians. Is it in an official capacity as a representative of the government furthering the US interests, or in private capacity engaging to further your political and financial concerns? It’s rhetorical, I know, but if you’re asking then you have to acknowledge the difference.
    furball 07/21/2017 02:22 PM
  • So let's have an honest discussion. Why is it suddenly so bad that a president may have dealings with Russia? If you look at our history politicians have been dealing with Russia for generations. This is new so why is it a problem now? Obama Clinton bush all had dealings with the Russian government and no one ever made this big a deal about it
    doankyl 07/20/2017 12:56 PM
  • Mark Shields a commentator on the PBS News Hour said it best. "George Washington couldn't tell a lie, Richard Nixon couldn't tell the truth, Donald Trump doesn't know the difference."

And he surrounds himself with liars as well. I was reading an article yesterday about how easily Trump tires, runs out of breath. Yet his doctor certified unequivocally that if elected he was would be the healthiest person ever to hold the office. Yeah right, like anyone in their right mind believes that.

  • Dave--you received a response on your post! It looks like novifitdaddy took time to craft you a fine response. It almost looks like he's now mastered cut-and-paste and put together a montage of his favorite lines from Trump tweets? Dubious grammar included, how authentically Trumpish!

I agree with your post. The revelations that keep coming since your post on the 14th are amazing. Couple that with reading Walter Shaub's exit interviews from the OGE on how Trump and Trump Inc are seemingly using the WH to enrich their various enterprises is incredible. What's more amazing is the impunity and brazenness that he's doing it; when you have your base seemingly unconcerned about your lack of ethics, why not? Pox on the lot.

BTW: I'd miss you. 'Cause who else can I gloat with about my Dodgers! I know your Red Sox are hanging 1st and tight in the AL east, but how about my Dodgers: 64-29 .688 (.688! Phew!). :)
