my current dogs

im going to talk about the current group of dogs i have. first i will talk about my 3 chihuahua mixes, they are what is called chiweenies, but i dont like the idea of making breeds by mixing two together so i call them chihuahua mixes. there is another reason for it to, you see the guy i got them from to start off with he had the female that was dacshund chihuahua mix, the father was a full blooded chihuahua, he bred them and i got mazzy mazzy is very ill tempered she growls at everything but yet is terrified of dogs she doesnt know, i got mazzy because i had just lost bennie my pekingese and k didnt like being alone when i left. richard met mazzy and after a few weeks he said he wanted a puppy, so i told the guy that if he bred them again richard wanted a puppy, about the next summer the guy contacted me and said he had a litter, i told him i wanted a black female, after the puppy was weaned he brought me the whole litter and asked me to find homes for them, i did. we noticed that bella the puppy richard got looked different from mazzy, so i asked about it and he explained he kept a female from the littler mazzy came out of and bred her back to the father. because of this bella has little seizures. then after k passed me and john were looking for a dog to keep mazzy company and john wanted a dog we adopted a rescue dog named luna, we notice after having her for 2 weeks she was eating alot so upon further checking we found out she was pregnant, she was border collie and boston terrier mix, i called the lady i got her from and she explain she was only with her german shepherd for 2 days and it was a male. well lune went into labor, i really dont have experience help a dog deliver puppies, so i called richard and asked him to come help us, he came down and the first puppy he delivered was a female he shouted out "this ones mine im naming her andy" then he continued delivering puppies there were 2 more, so we thought because after the third one was delivered she got up and started walking around, so we assumed she was done, the next morning she was acting funny richard was here to visit his puppy and drink coffee with john. luna laid down on the floor and was panting, richard delivered the fourth puppy who was still born. the puppies were doing great the first week and we were noticing that luna was spending less time with them, even at night she wouldnt sleep in the box with them, a few days went by and we noticed that the puppies were losing weight, i call richard again and asked what do i do, he came down and we tried coaxing her in with the puppies and she was growling at us, so richard got her down and tried to hold her down to let them nurse she started snapping. so we took her to the vet to see if something was wrong he found nothing, he suggested putting luna in a small room with the puppies where she couldnt get away from them and also supplemental feeding by us til we got her to feed them.we put luna and the puppies in the bath room, in which she jumped in the tub and still wouldnt have any thing to do with them, each time you opened the bath room she darted out. we even tried putting the pups in the tub since she was hanging out there and she wouldnt go in with them. i accepted that she had rejected the puppies and found her another home and i bottle fed the puppies. i bottle fed them for 3 1/2 weeks and started the weaning process. once they were weaned richard came and got his puppy andy, and i gave the other 2 boys away. and fit right in she turned out to be very sensitive and very smart, she looks like a small black and white german shepherd . andy was very attached to richard when he passed she became depressed not eating for a few days, still to this day she has good and bad days one day she will eat good and the next she might not eat at all. i think she remembers me bottle feeding her because when something scares her she runs to me.
hope is the third chihuahua mix she almost looks full blooded, she came from the same guy she was in the 5th litter he had from each litter he kept a female and bred it back to the father, hope is so inbred she has full blown seizures, we opted to not have her put on seizure meds because 1 they cant gaurantee the meds will stop them, 2 they are hard on the liver, 3 they could make her life span 7 to 8 years 4 she has a seizure about once every two months. hope is the dog that all the other dogs love she and andy are best friends, she is the only dog that mazzy doesnt growl at. bella sleeps next to hope.
now we have the newest addition patty cakes, the guy i got her from told me she was 3/4 chow(i saw the mother she was full blooded chowchow) and 1/4 doberman, i didnt see the father so i dont know what he looked like, but patty was the only puppy in the litter that had blue eyes, when i went to look at the puppies the guy handed me patty, and i carried her around while i looked at the other puppies, i was the first person there so i had my pick, there was a white puppy but i told him i wanted the one i was holding, i didnt see here eyes til 2 days later, and i called him and asked about them and he said she was the only puppy with blue eyes the others had brown eyes, i met with a few others who got a puppy from him and their puppy has brown eyes. patty looks like she is going to look like a short haired chow. the funny thing is all the other puppies had either black tongues or a black spot, patties mouth is black but her tongue is pink. i often think richard had some thing to do with me getting patty, you see i had told him back in oct, if i got another dog i wanted it to be either a chow or a chow mix cream color or cinnimon, how i found her was i was on craiglist, i often go there to look and see whats posted, i ran across the ad it had just been posted i called the guy went to see the puppies, really just to look at them, but months earlier when me and richard were talking about death i mentioned that if he went before me i would get another dog to keep people away. patty acts like a typical chow she aways aloof when we go out and its time to go in she run the other way and wont come in til shes ready. when she sleeps at night she wont sleep on the bed she will get up on the bed for a while but she jumps off the bed and sleeps beside the bed on the floor and through the night she walks around the house, as if she is patrolling.
