Anyone want to help me test out a new look?

Hey all I made a second version of the site with light muted colors for people who have a hard time using current site, or just prefer lighter colors.
The dark one will stay, but for people who have trouble using it Im offering this lighter easier version.

If you'd like to give it a try this is how you can change your colors:
1. Click "Manage my Profile" on the top left.
2. Scroll near the bottom to where it says "DaddyDater Site Colors"
Select "Light" from the drop down menu, then click the yellow button to save.
3. You should have the new colors.
If anything looks really off, click Shift and Reload at the same time, so your computer will get the newest version of the site, not cached.

Live with it for a few hours or a day and see if you adjust to it, and its easier to use.
You can always go back and forth between the darker and lighter.
If you see major problem message me and let me know. I've been using it for a week and I like it. It grows on you.

I'd say its about 70% done, I just need to do some minor touchups here and there.

  • Ok try it again, hit Shift + Reload. I made some subtle changes and think it looks a little nicer.
    If you just hit reload without shifting your computer will give you the old version, Hit shift with reload will give you the latest version from the site

  • I like the lighter version, Mark, and am keeping mine set on it for the time being at least. The dark version is more graphically appealing, but I like the readability of the light version better. But I do think a slightly different background color would be an improvement.

  • I'm sorry, I did a bad job explaining myself. This isn't about whether you like the darker or lighter better, because the darker isnt going to be changed. This is about having an option available for people who have trouble reading the current light font on a darker color.

    So I made a version that is dark font on a lighter skin, and I'm asking:
    - if its easy to read
    - easy to navigate
    - easy to send and receive your messages
    - easy to find where to edit your pictures
    - if you're getting any errors
    etc, before I send a mass email about it.

  • i'm agreeing with most who have voted for the "darker" side

    the light version is nice but there isn't much distinction between background and the "read" space... color scheme wise (is that the word i'm looking for) i like how it contrasts distinctly with the red in the logo as well as the red border given to the subscribers in the "members in xx state" tab...

  • Personally, I prefer the darker version. While the light version is much more readable, I find it a bit too.. flat. There isn't much of a texture or color gradation in the light version, and as a result, it doesn't pop up enough or make much of an impression at first look. Moreover, the single-color background makes the dead space too apparent, and distracts the eye.

    Maybe adding a couple of mid-range colors for the blocks and posts might help?

  • I checked it out. I like both. Maybe you could add a setting so people can choose their own color background.

  • I actually don't mind the light background. But maybe something other than just a stark white? Like a light green or tan?

  • Im not changing the dark, just making this Lighter one an available second option for those who have trouble using the darker version. Like getting a car, would you like gray interior or beige interior :)

    Anyways I know people wont like it at first, thats why I say live with it for a few hours or a day. Im looking at it from the point of view of someone who isnt technical and doesnt want a bunch of different colors, just easy to use plain and pale.

    Btw if theres a designer here I'd love to come up with more color schemes, I definitely want a slutty red one. And one the color of flesh and jizz.
