Finished putting on some decorations Friday morning. It's a small tree, but real fragrant, and a reminder of how fortunate I am. Merry Christmas and Holidays to all! :)
My hubby and I only do it when we're having family in for Christmas or will be having lots of childrens in over the holidays.
This year we've done virtually nothing....which is fine by me!
When we DO put up a Christmas tree........it's 10-11 feet tall and loaded with our ornaments plus old family heirlooms.
Call me Scrooge, but sometimes I see Christmas as very stressful and not very enjoyable....I prefer Thanksgiving
that being said..........Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and Happy Holidays to everyone else!
For years I have been the designated Gay Jew who is invited to straight friends’ houses to decorate their trees… It’s that flair thing. lol However, at home in NYC or Santa Fe I have my Menorah made of Nambé candlesticks. (I place it next to a large mirror in NYC.) Both my hetro & homo friends come to celebrate the eighth night where my spouse and I serve a home made buffet of traditional foods. Gifts are never welcome… just warm smiles from the ones we love and the celebration of being together again for another year. So, Happy Holiday to all you guys… especially my close DD buddies who will not be with me this year in person. Be Merry and Gay… (And “A fraylichen Chanukah” to fenwaydav.)
Marc--you shared this tumblr site awhile back, I still check in to see TMDD. Here's some Christmas spirit from the little guy! :) http://thingsmydickdoes.tumblr.com/
Marc, for a long time, I did not put up a tree, but began doing so, again, about four years ago. I live in a one-bedroom apartment, at this time, so the tree needs to be smaller, so that I can put it on top of a table that I use as a Spiritual Altar, in my living room. I have been especially busy, this month, so have not purchased it, yet, plus the place where we had purchased one, last year, closed, which really upset me, because they were located about ten blocks away from my apartment building. In any event, once I have my Yule Tree fully decorated, I shall happily share a photograph of it.
