Whats your monthly phone bill?

I'm very curious what other people pay for their phone bill. Who are you with and what is your plan?
I pay $73/month for AT&T Wireless. I only get 1 gig of data a month and it's for an older iphone.

I'm wondering What other people pay, if I'm paying too much or if thats about right.
I reel like I could be spending less.

  • I have T-Mobile. Unlimited data and texts for $65ish including taxes, fees, ridiculous charges. I am curiously scared to see my next bill as I foolishly answered my phone on the boat going to Alaska.

  • $30/mo pre-paid MetroPCS....they say unlimited talk, text, and data. don't use the data, so can't comment. also, can receive international calls, but canNot make international calls/texts. but for a few pennies more, I'm sure they would let me. have great service now in South East FL (was pretty bad 15 years ago, is MUCH improved) good luck

  • seems like you could just call them and tell them it's too much

  • I think the service that's best for you also depends greatly on where you live. I live in a relatively poor part of town, and to be honest, the Sprint and T-Mobile (which includes Metro PCS) networks just don't provide good coverage here. I had Sprint for a while, and it sucks not even being able to rely on cell service at home! So where I live, have to go either AT&T or Verizon network. BTW, I've heard very good things about Metro PCS if you're in an area where their service works well!

  • Re a monthly phone bill:
As I live in a major city... OK and a minor one as well… I find no need for cellular service… at least at this point. I have no car in New York, the one in Santa Fe is used only within seven miles or so from home. I do have an emergency phone in that car for which I pay minutes… but have never had to use the thing in three years. I have no kids, my parents are no longer alive and as far as “but, what if you are going to be late?” I’m not late UB2. My home service is MagicJack. With all the equipment needed for my VOIP for both homes and the service charges, it came out to about $250… but I’m paid up through 2020. Granted, I need to pay for internet, though I would need to do that anyway. When I travel I plug into the WiFi where I’m staying and I am at the same phone number I’ve had for forty plus years. The drawback is finding a restaurant when I’m in a strange town… Then again I’m gregarious enough to ask a local.

  • I'm on a shared Verizon plan with 3 others. We each pay $54 a month, unlimited calls/texts, 6GB a month split between us (we rarely use 2GB between the 4 of us), the plan came with the phone, a Samsung GS5, and it's all part of a two year contract that we purchased with Verizon through Costco.

The local news channel did a bit on how to cut down on your cell phone costs, it recommended, if you need a new phone, to buy last year's models as manufacturers, like Samsung, LG, Apple will offer deep discounts on the previous year's models. For me, since I use so few applications on my phone that an older model would work just fine for me.

  • Marc, I'm with AT&T, my monthly phone bill is $45.00...but, I have it taken out of my account automatically every month, so I get a discount for doing that, save's me $5 a month which is a savings of $60 a year...I get 4 GB LTE...I have unlimited texting, data, and unlimited phone use...all for $40.00 a month plus tax...not bad!!!....check into it...

  • I use Consumer Cellular. They have a lot of options (At&t network). We don't use much data. I have an iPhone partner has just a standard flip phone. We pay just under $40/month.

  • I'm on Cricket wireless, which is a lower-cost AT&T cellphone provider. I get 5 gb for $50 a month ($45 with autopay). However, it should be noted that you aren't getting the best or newest phones with this provider. But if that's not a big deal to you, it's a good value. The 10gb plan is only an extra $10 a month, if you need that much.
